Wave Challenge '09...

...was very good.

Check Firebrands Floorball Club's blog and/or Firebrands' blog for updates, which should come up within a week.

Wednesday 22 April 2009

Youthwave

some random ramblings, in the days leading up to it.

oh darn we're going up against the SECOND best MGS team.. (thank you G12 for kindly posting up your teams on the blog. it helps...)

i hope Sali doesn't prove to be reminiscent of UniHawks (tall, towering and tall).

maybe kutu's team'll have a better chance.

but if i play like this, then eulene'll have to be in defense..

..steph can you pass a ball to me if i call out to you?

i hope they don't bunch around the ball again.

is 2nd in group too ambitious?

well at least it's a much better draw than the one Skyline got.

oh, yes, it does look rigged!

it's just for fun, Peili, just for fun...

oh and now i'll be handling the food too? okay...

eulene, leanne, steph and nat are following leroy. cherie and i are following eunice. eureka by herself. kutu can walk and carry nathania with her.

8 minutes non-stop?! gone la. no substitutes!

you don't really have to shoot. just do a really hard pass to the goal, or lob it and hope it bounces in somehow.

but if they leave the centre open?

yeah it won't be good if the opponent has a good centre.

but what're the chances of that?

oh joy. i won't be thrashed by UniHawks for the 4th time.

practise penalties.

if we don't lose at all, maybe can. if we lose one, then hard d. if we win just once, then i'm happy.

oh right... remember the main purpose of Wave Challenge..

don't tell me i'm the only shooter.

we're only playing two games. aw.

firebrands mah firebrands lor!

God rocks.

Recess Revo

So we didn't get the Week 3 booklet yet (Pragas hasn't gotten it from the KL people as yet), so we didn't have any material to share on during recess.

Pragas suggested just having prayer meets during recess.

But we were already doing prayer meets after school..

..so why not do our own mini Bible study?

So I kindly volunteered to do it for today, Peili doing it tomorrow.

And last night I was wondering what to do. Before I slept I asked God what He wanted me to share on.

And I heard: Making ourselves right with God.

So I researched a li'l bit, used the concordance (God bless whoever made concordances) to find the word 'right'.
And I ended up with the story of Simon the Sorcerer, and the word 'right' was in that passage (somewhere in Acts 8), on John telling Simon that his (Simon's) heart was not right before God, cuz Simon was offering money in order to receive the Holy Spirit.
Added a li'l reference to the passage in 1 Corinthians, about examining ourselves before partaking of the Communion, and voĆla! I've gotten something to share on.

We have to make ourselves right before God before we can reach out to others.

Anyhow Recess Revo today was really good!

Now to the point:

Eulene msged me, saying she didn't think she was gonna have bible study. But then this question just hit her before recess and it was How is Our Walk With God. So she shared on it before prayer, as today's Recess Revo.

Like wow..

Making ourselves right with God and How is our walk with God...

...so sepadan!

Like, God rocks in this place.

Sunday 19 April 2009

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better...

Guess what?

Yup yup.

Thank you mom, thank you dad, thank You God.

It'll make its debut during Wave Challenge.

Sure, there were at least 5 other pairs which looked better, one of them in particular looked really really nice.

But all those five were for casual wear. They can't survive running during floorball, unfortunately.

This one can.

Best weekend ever :)

Wow.

We got 13th!

Out of 58 oldER and more experienced teams.

Aisehh. not bad!

June, great job driving (and screaming in the car lol)!

We would've gotten hopelessly lost without Zac.

And Pei's brains helped tonnes.

:)

Saturday 18 April 2009

=D

It all started on that Wednesday night, like about nearly 11 p.m., when I was falling asleep...

...and my phone started vibrating.

So, me, being the person who hates answering phone calls when I'm half-asleep, pressed the red button.

Then it vibrated again.

So, me, being the intelligent person, looked at the phone number and recognised it and thought this better be urgent and I pressed the green button and said Hello?

It was June, on whether I wanted to join the Charis Hospice Treasure Hunt thing on Saturday.

=D that's when the fun began!

..

Saturday morning finally came.

Zac and June had already came to my place the day before, briefing me about stuff about the treasure hunt.

Apparently me and Peili were supposed to be the ones solving the cryptic clues.

Cryptic like:

House in main diagram. (Ans: India House)

Yeah, we'll get to more of those cryptic stuff later (there were loads!).

So 7-something a.m. June fetched me with Pei and Zac already in the car, and we went to St. George's Cathedral (the starting point).

And, believe it or not, we nearly got lost on the way there cuz we couldn't find the entrance to turn into the carpark so like we went on one big round...

...Peluh.

Anyways, there were 58 teams in all, and we were the youngest!

Mostly cuz no other youth would pay RM 100 per person to join (our team was all paid for d, cuz June and Pei's mom is the Medical Director of Charis Hospice, so yeah. thankyouu!).

The people already there.

The awesomest group ever :)
(uh, yeah, we had to wear oversized tees and become walking advertisements for ZHULIAN...)

7:50 a.m., and the final briefing started, before the mass flag-off.

Mr Organiser and Mr Organiser.

The crowd of participants.

So then we were given the envelopes containing the following questions:

Road Qs: All cryptic, 13 roads in all.
Heritage Site Qs: Not THAT cryptic, based on the Road Questions.
Heritage Site Feature Qs: Mostly cryptic, where you actually have to go to the Heritage Site itself and look for the answers.
Picture Qs: Go to the place itself and snap a photo of the thing mentioned, the clue is pretty cryptic.
Map Qs: Based on the map given; very, very cryptic.
Charis Hospice Qs: Based on the Charis Hospice pamphlet given during the briefing on Thursday night.

And the Hunt was on!

First hour (8-9 a.m.) was spent solving the utterly cryptic questions.

Pei the thinker,

Zachary the navigator,

June the driver.

Once we had most of the Road Questions solved and Zac had arranged our route, we bertolak-ed.

First we decided to go to the Penang State Museum, but it was too crowded (all the other teams went).

So we tackled the Clock Tower instead, for the first Puzzler.

It was something about which clock face never could have both its hands pointing at black diamonds on opposite ends...

...which was totally confusing, cuz all four clock faces on the towers were like either missing a black diamond or had a portion of gray background.

..

Next up, we went based on a hunch on a Road Question which went something like this: The first road you will be on during the race.

So, we went to Lebuh Bishop. (it turned out to be the wrong answer lol)

Parking metre :)

Where we couldn't find anything which corresponded to the Heritage Site Feature Questions, which were like:
In the carpark,
1. Sounds like a humped-back animal without borders.
2. Friend, I see doubly.

3. [i forgot; something about 'used to be twins travelling in opposite directions, now separated.']

Looking about.

Think!

Since we couldn't find head or tail of those cryptic questions in a carpark at Lebuh Bishop, we decided to walk on to King's Street, since it was adjacent and was mentioned in a Road Question: Road for a ruler.

Lots of Heritage Site Questions and such for King's Street.

Among them:
1. [picture of top of temple roof]

So we found the temple which had a roof which looked like the one given.

1a. What two addresses are under this roof? (We settled for 32 and 34 King's Street.)

1b. There are 8 men and only 1 animal. What is that animal?

It was this carving-thingy on the wall of the temple, so the animal was the monkey.

1c. Draw the symbol the [a number] old men and [a number] young men are looking at; name it. (It was a mural at the same temple, they were looking at Yin and Yang.)

Picture Question: Take a photo of the couple a surprised bird is looking at.
(Also at the temple.)

Kept on walking down King Street...

And solved more Heritage Site Questions:

2. Three flag-poles are in front of this building. (some Surau & Madrasah place)

3. Name of shop where you can drink tea.

We found this nice traditional Chinese tea shop.

Picture Question: Take a photo of 3 of your group members drinking tea. Don't forget to include the Sifu! (we made a mistake here: there was a portrait of an old man on the wall and the shop owners said that that was the real sifu - turned out we were actually supposed to take a shot with the living sifu (who said modestly that he wasn't really a sifu) who was making the tea. haha we thought too hard)

The special medicinal really nice Chinese tea that the friendly aunty made us drink lots of.

More Heritage Site Questions:

4. Second word is his going back. (a Chinese building: something Sih something something - Sih written backwards = His)

5. Remove the last letter, and the first and the fourth words become the same. (another Chinese building: Koo something something Koon - remove the 'n' and the first and fourth words are the same)

Yup, so we were pretty much done with King Street and moved on to some other roads. (I can barely remember them now)

Walking back to the car.

Among the other roads and sites we visited:

Road Question: I give way to love to build a hotel. (Stewart Lane - it gives way to Love Lane)
Stewart Lane's Heritage Site Question: A yacht to refit here. (Hainanese Mariners' Lodge)

Road Question: Sounds like black water locally, I hear? (Jalan Air Itam)
Heritage Site Question: Famous school not accessible to public
(Chung Ling High (Private))

Road Question: On a level that's disturbed.
(Love Lane - 'disturbed' indicates an anagram: rearrange 'on a level' and you get 'love lane'.)
Heritage Site Question:
I forgot it but it was really complicated, answer's Lo Pan Hong aka Carpenters' Guild. Picture Question: It can still strike a chord although it has taken a toll (the big bell inside the Carpenters' Guild)

More, with photos:

Road Question: Stuck in a Folies Bergere jam? (Lebuh Gereja)
Heritage Site Question: The entrance is guarded by two who are not locally born. (Pinang Peranakan Mansion - the entrance was guarded by two Greek warrior statues)

Oh, look, someone else's already been here...

The entrance to the mansion, and the trishaw we were supposed to take a photo of for a Picture Question (I think).

Next.

Road Question: Men in so-called 'master race'? (Answer: Armenian Street (insert 'men' into 'aryan/arian' (the 'master race') and you get arMENian))

So since we were on Lebuh Armenian we checked out the Cheah Kongsi:

Zac playing with the lion statue - there was a ball inside in lion's mouth. Zac was fascinated cuz the ball could move. lol..

And the Heritage Site Questions under Lebuh Armenian:
1. Base of a revolutionary leader? (Dr Sun Yat Sen's base)

In Sun Yat Sen's base.

1a. Under what cover name did the revolutionists operate? (We spent some time in the house looking at the displays and descriptions, so found a plausible enough answer (some Chinese name I can't remember now))

In the cabinet, (there was a cabinet in the place)
1b. Whose red ink?
(Stephen Scarlet)
1c. It is brave-sounding, but hesitate first!
(something in the cabinet with the label Sobranie - so berani, get it?)

1d. Escape routes led to which two villages? (Based on a map in the base itself - Kampung Kaka and Kampung Kolam)

Along Lebuh Armenian also, another Heritage Site Question which had the answer Ku Din Ku Meh's Residence / Islamic Museum.

So we went to the Islamic Museum!

And more Heritage Site Feature Questions about the Islamic Museum, like:

a. [picture] Whose father is this? (picture turned out to be Tun Abdullah Badawi's dad)

b. I forgot the exact question - the answer was two walking sticks in a display case, or at least that's what we got.

c. Among the five weapons, which is from Persia? (We found a display case containing five weapons, and the pisau was from Persia.)

d. Reporter's tin on a shelf which contains her in sobs. (So cryptic! After looking for ages, we finally found a display shelf with Datuk Dr Sheikh O Basheer's diary - see the SOB with her?)

Next up, Weld Quay (Road Question: Road you enter once you leave the ferry in car).

Heritage Site Questions under Weld Quay:
1. Name the seven clan piers whose names are on lampposts. (Chew, Tan, Lim, Ong, something, something, Mixed Surname (i dunno it was on a lamppost))

2. Out of the seven, what do you do when you eat? (Chew Jetty - chew when you eat)

So we went to the Chew Jetty to solve its Heritage Site Feature Questions.

Bumped into Steven, Ming Hwee, Kai Yann (the small face barely visible behind) and Bernard.

2a. From which province did this clan originate? (Fujian Province, got it from a description outside the jetty.)

2b. Address of house which has pencil at door to ward off evil spirits. (54 A, nearly got it confused with 54 which had a brush, not a pencil.)

2c. At the end, a building houses two instruments. What are they? (bell and drum)

More Chew Jetty photos..

Once that was over, we also stopped by at (Road Question: Stop! a Mughal emperor, I hear?) Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah.

Heritage Site Question: Place where founder landed. (Fort Cornwallis)

Heritage Site Feature Questions: Lots of them, we had to go a couple of galleries there to get the answers.

We bumped into Kamal & gang doing their Siviks project.

Next it was to P. Ramlee's House! More questions, more looking around...

And we then rushed (we were running late - our 6 hours were almost up) to the Penang Hill Railway, to solve more questions.

Jam on the way.

At the foot of Penang Hill (the station), June dropped me, Pei and Zac off and went to find parking.

But we only stayed there for less than 5 minutes, and June was nowhere to be seen.

Called her, and guess what? She parked somewhere and paid RM 3.00 for parking. So poor her had to start her car again and come fetch us.

Zac bought 3 of those for us. Thankyou! (:

Then we immediately drove back to town to take a photo of the Hainanese Temple (for what we thought was the answer for Picture Question 7 (part of the Map Question 1) but in the end turned out not to be).

Dropped Zac off a couple of blocks away from the temple for him to take the photo, and drove off into a side lane to park.

Zac ran off, came back, and we sped off to the Penang State Museum, for the third time (first time was when it was packed, second when we went to it based on the wrong question, this time we finally figured out its corresponding question).

And finally we solved:
In the carpark, (the Penang State Museum carpark)
1. Sounds like a humped-back animal without borders. (there was this old, old vehicle there which said Scammel: cut off the 'borders' (S and l) and you get cammel, which sounds like 'camel')
2. Friend, I see doubly.
(two cars there - Cadillac)
3. [i forgot; something about 'used to be twins travelling in opposite directions, now separated.']
(the hill railway carriage in front of the museum)

By then we were overtime (supposed to get to Midlands Berjaya Hotel (the one above One Stop) by 2:00p.m. - it was already past that), so we just rushed.

Zac: *points to the right* Turn left here.
June keeps to the left side of the road
Zac: No! No! Go to the LEFT! Left, left!
June keeps to the left.
Pei: You mean left or right? Cuz you were pointing right wad..
Zac: OH! Go to the right! I mean right! What was I saying?
June exclaims, barely makes it across to the right.
Zac: Stupid Zac...
June: That's why I thought you were saying left, left..

Everyone laughs about it for the next hour.

So we dropped Zac off opposite Midlands One Stop, and he ran up to hand in our answer sheets.

Next time we saw him was on the seventh floor of the hotel, waiting outside the ballroom, looking kinda disappointed.

Apparently we got 3 (I think) of the 6 Picture Questions wrong.

[and we found out that Zac didn't have to delete the other misc. photos he took along the trip, cuz all he had to do was show them the relevant photos, instead we thought just leave the 6 photos in the camera and hand it to 'em... aww..]

Anyways!

The tea was good!

At first I didn't plan to stay (I wanted to go for FLOORBALL!) but oh well, June/Pei's mom said the tea's good so I stayed for a bit.

My plate of food.

My plate of tumbled cakes.

Zac's dollop of cream (cream once in two weeks is okay, he says).

And that marks the end of a freakin' awesome treasure hunt.

I still don't know whether we won anything lol.

But it was really great fun, and I really really liked my team!

And I went to places I never knew existed :)

Went to floorball next (darn didn't get to try out a strategy I'm thinking of (Pei suggested it) for Wave Challenge).

Then youth service after that (fireBRANDS + Frontliners) was very terrific!

Sweet and Sour He Ko

I didn't know how it'd turn out.

I think He Ko is prawn paste, or something along that line?

I don't know.

Sweet and sour prawn paste? Well it's exactly what was written on the menu!

I really don't know.

Pragas: Sweet and sour he ko, quite nice!

But actually he said everything in the place is very nice, so...

Once school was over and done with, and once Eulene bought her freshly-fried doughnuts, and once Pei Li bought some too cuz she saw Eulene eating 'em, and once Daniel finished changing and walking around the place...

...my dad fetched us all to EPCC.

I didn't know EPCC took up shoplots on 3 separate floors!

So we met Pragas on the 2nd floor, went down to some coffee-shop opposite (I forgot the name of it), bumped into Li Ean, ordered food and drinks.

Pragas paid, much to Eulene's delight. HAHA. I know you wanted that!

So the awesomest-ever half-of-a-CF-committee sat and ate and drank and listened to Pragas.

About what to do, looking to the future, kickstarting... (I don't wanna elaborate further at risk of boring you readers, whoever bothered reading this lol)

And Eulene demonstrated her natural skills as a secretary! Honest. She just whipped out a notebook and a pen and started writing when no one asked her to... haha.

Oh yeah, after she went back, the rest of us (me, Peili, Dan, Pragas) went up to see the mini-sanctuary.

Nice.

The highest I dare dream for our CF is that one day, we'll become too big for the mini-sanctuary and graduate to the 3rd floor sanctuary which can seat 150 people :)

And one thing Pragas said that I really like:
The CF can become a church by itself.

It turned out to be a bowl of your usual white rice with a side of sweet and sour chicken.

Same as Eulene's sweet and sour chicken lor. Except darker. Must be the he ko.

It was gooooooood.

But I left the huge (by my standards) chunks of tomato, cucumber, onion and green peppers behind =P

Viewer discretion is advised!

Thank you Ivy Joy Toh Joy Lynn (also known as Tennis) for kindly providing an illustration for the dinosaur story.

Well kinda. hahah.

It's kinda.. graphic?

So gory. hahaha.

ohmygoodness ivy so lame!

Sunday 12 April 2009

Growth spurt!

Just look at the amount of players.

26.
(excluding the Frontliners - bytheway I'm not a Frontliner anymore. awwwwwww. once a frontliner always a frontliner?)

How awesome is that?!
Even Mr Coach admits it's great, considering what a new club Firebrands is.
Looks like those constant buggings I did to some people (you know who you are. haha) finally paid off.

Marshmallows

I like this picture. lol.

It's spelt marshmallow, not marshmellow.

Why do we eat marshmallows? Because they're nice.

But you do know marshmallows aren't good for your health!

But then again we still eat marshmallows.

Okay so maybe you don't eat marshmallows. Maybe you eat.. junk food.

Everyone knows junk food is killer food.

If you can read this sentence and understand it, then you'd probably know that junk food ain't the best thing for your health.

But then again, you still eat junk food (don't we all?).

So I could rant on and on about Coca-Cola, hamburgers and french fries BUT the point is, humans do things that hurt themselves again and again and again even though they know it hurts themselves.

How weird of humanity.

Same thing: God tells us stop, and we just keep on doing it: the stubborn people we are, ignoring the fact that one day, we'll face the consequences.

Which reminds me of Israel. Israel sins, Israel gets downtrodden, Israel repents, God saves Israel, Israel sins again, Israel gets burned, Israel realises, God saves Israel, Israel sins again, Israel suffers, Israel repents, God saves Israel...

Makes you wonder how many truckloads of mercy God has.

Yeah, well, in conclusion, don't eat too many marshmallows.

This post seems pointless. It probably is. Well I was just trying to kill time =D

Choleric Phlegmatic

The most subdued of all the extrovert temperaments is the ChlorPhleg, a happy blend of the quick, active, and hot with the calm, cool, and unexcited. He is not as apt to rush into things as quickly as the preceding extroverts because he is more deliberate and subdued. He is extremely capable in the long run, although he does not particularly impress you that way at first. He is a very organized person who combines planning and hard work. People usually enjoy working with and for him because he knows where he is going and has charted his course, yet is not unduly severe with people. He has the ability to help others make the best use of theirs skills and rarely offends people or makes them feel used. The ChlorPhleg’s slogan on organization states: "Anything that needs to be done can be done better if it's organized." These men are usually good husbands and fathers as well as excellent administrators in almost any field.

In spite of his obvious capabilities, the ChlorPhleg is not without a notable set of weaknesses. Although not as addicted to the quick anger of some temperaments, he is known to harbor resentment and bitterness. Some of the cutting edge of choleric’s sarcasm is here offset by the gracious spirit of the phlegmatic; so instead of uttering cutting and cruel remarks, his barbs are more apt to emerge as cleverly disguised humor. One is never quite sure whether he is kidding or ridiculing, depending on his mood. No one can be more bull headedly stubborn that a ChlorPhleg, and it is very difficult for him to change his mind once it is committed. Repentance or the acknowledgment of a mistake is not at all easy for him. Consequently, he will be more apt to make it up to those he has wronged without really facing his mistake. The worrisome traits of the phlegmatic side of his nature may so curtail his adventurous tendencies that he never quite measures up to his capabilities.

Titus, the spiritual son of the Apostle Paul and leader of the hundred or so churches on the Isle of Crete, may well have been a ChlorPhleg. When filled with the Spirit, he was the kind of man on whom Paul could depend on to faithfully teach the Word to the churches and administrate them capably for the glory of God. The book which Paul wrote to him makes ideal reading for any teacher, particularly a ChlorPhleg.

click here for website, got all the 12 temperament blends. pretty accurate.

How it went.

Recess Revo

Week 1, Friday

Gather at your school's flag poles and pray.

Firstly, we went out of class late (add math lesson ended late), so 5 minutes of recess gone d.

Secondly, our school's flag poles didn't have any flags on them. (potong steam!)

Thirdly, we waited for people, so another minute or two gone.

Sure, we weren't gonna take 20 minutes to pray, but we started late. (So in the end we didn't have any time to eat.)

Prayer went on well. In a circle, as usual.

Yes, so people were staring at us as they walked by (you don't usually stand at your school's flag poles during recess...) but oh well. It was good. Making a statement!

And yup, people noticed!
Someone in class was like: What were you all doing??
Peili: Praying.
That person: For what?
Peili: Our school.
Person: Why??
Peili: Cuz we're in this school wad.

God? Well He definitely noticed :)

Monday through to Thursday (mini Bible studies) went well enough, 5-8 people or so. Noisy though, the canteen.

Wednesday 8 April 2009

You Know What?

There's so much more I'm living for in life, that that problem seems so insignificant and small that I'll learn to take it for granted.

And pray, of course.

How can we not pray?!

Something a 7-year-old wrote.

My Pet Dinosaur

Once upon a time, I went to my back garden and in a shock I found a Dinosaur egg behind the bushes. Then i rushed back to my house and showed my whole family my dinosaur egg. After that I said "Everybody I found a dinosaur egg." everyone was amazed.

Next, after holding my dinosaur egg for a few minutes, I felt warm so that means the dinosaur egg must be kept warm and I quickly put the dinosaur egg in my bag. Suddenly I herd a cracking noise that seem to get louder and louder, I realised the noise was coming from my bag. When I looked in my bag, I found a pet dinosaur as small as my dinosaur egg.

I called everyone, they seem to get shocked and when I went to school, I had to put my pet dinosaur in my jean's pocket. At dinner time my dinosaur seem to jump out of my pocket every time just for the spaghetti, so I keep dropping hoops of spaghetti in my jean's pocket.

I felt scared because my dinosaur seem to get bigger every minute. Then I told Mrs. Edginton for help, so Mrs. Edginton gave me a plastic bag for my dinosaur. My dinosaur grew and grew till it was to big for the plastic bag.

So I asked Mrs. Smith for a bigger plastic bag but when my dinosaur grew too big for the plastic bag. When my dinosaur grew I realised it was a Stegosaurus!!!

Next I had to carry my dinosaur because I had no more plastic bags. Then I went home and watch T.V. A few minutes later, I realised my dinosaur was shrinking. So I lived happily ever after!

[illustration of a stegosaurus]

[end]

haha. how amusing :)

that 7-year-old was me.

back when i was in England and school was fun and we did lots of stuff.

that story was in a small folio called 'My Dinosaur Topic' which i barely remember doing... Mrs Edginton was the class teacher, Mrs Smith one of the administrative heads in Watermill Primary School.

*special thanks to my MUM for keeping all those old old folios till i still have 'em today =D

Sunday 5 April 2009

The Bread of Life for Recess.

Recess Revo's starting tomorrow.

And Hugh's Chicken Run (on AFC) kept on going blurry everytime I sent/got an sms from Peili (who was extremely blur and knocked).

What if no one brings their Bibles?

What if no one turns up?

What if we don't have enough time for all dozen (or so) verses?

What if everyone gets bored?

Oh well.

God help me.

Wish us luck, and a short prayer.

Saturday 4 April 2009

Revolutionized.

RevoTour's over, sadly.

I mean, it was amazing while it lasted!

The Revo people (I still remember: Amanda, Vernee, Jeremy and Mark), the messages, the bunch of early-birdy fireBRANDS, the ushering, the start-late-end-late scenarios, the heavy rain, the worship...

...the GOD!

(I know this may seem pretty redundant (cuz i'm gonna hafta update the fB's blog about it again once i get some photos) but you know what RevoTour deserves it.)

33 people saved. How awesome is that?

EPCC has great ushers. Acts Church is great. God is great.

I can honestly say God moved in every single Revo event in different ways. Ask the people (anyone!) who went!

Next up, Recess Revo :)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. - 2 Tim 1:7

Thursday 2 April 2009

Our God is a God who Saves

I believe you're my Healer.

I believe You're everyone's Healer.

And we believe You know what You're doing and You're in control.

You make miracles happen. You break through any wall and prove Yourself good and true.

God I pray that You'll make one now and You be a Healer.

In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

One more.

God I pray that You'll strengthen his faith and let him know that You're always there.

Strengthen all our faiths as we make our own cries for one cause.

And come through, Lord. Come through for all of us.

Amen.

Nothing is impossible for You.

You hold the world in Your hands.

..

footnote:

And you know what I think's awesome?

All the fireBRANDS uniting for one cause.

Through SMS alerts, prayer, support...

Makes you know how much more fireBRANDS really is than just another youth group.
